What is your educational background, and how have your education and experience influenced the treatments you specialize in today?
I am a cosmetologist from Finland, where the profession and education have existed since the 1930s. I furthered my education by training as a reflexologist, as the holistic view of health and wellbeing has always fascinated me. I have experience with skin conditions from my 19 years of working alongside a dermatologist. These different perspectives give me a strong and well-rounded foundation of knowledge from multiple angles when I meet a new client.
What does a holistic treatment mean to you, and what does it involve in your work in practice? How do you ensure that your clients experience a truly holistic journey, where body, mind, and senses come together as one?
I am deeply committed to providing my clients with an exceptional experience from start to finish. Every detail matters – from how I present myself, to how I prepare the treatment room, the scents, the tidiness, the way I welcome and say goodbye to my clients, and of course the treatment itself. I always keep in mind how I would like to be welcomed and cared for myself. I am always mindful of how significant a decision it is to book a treatment, and therefore how impactful the overall experience of that treatment can be. It is never insignificant – it is always important. It costs both time and money to receive a treatment from me, and I am committed to making sure my clients receive exceptional value in return.
What defines your personal signature as a spa expert, and how does your approach differ most significantly from what is typically seen in the industry?
I hope that what sets me apart is both my understanding of people and the challenges they face, which in turn influences the treatments I provide and the guidance I offer. I always draw on my full range of knowledge and experience when treating a client. If a client comes with the sole intention of relaxing, I make every effort to tailor the treatment so that each touch is as soothing and relaxing as possible. On the other hand, if a client comes to me with specific concerns related to their body or skin, I make every effort to identify the most appropriate exercises, lifestyle recommendations, dietary guidance, and products to support their needs.
A treatment can be technically effective, but in your opinion, what is it that elevates it into something almost magical and truly memorable for the client?
In my opinion, the magic comes from being truly present. That is what I strive for with every person who allows me to touch their life for a brief moment. I hope that all my clients experience a moment of magical presence and universal love in my company.
Which ingredients and products resonate most strongly with you, and what do you prioritize when selecting products for your treatments?
I am a big fan of Precious Premium Perl, which appeals to me because of its incredibly effective formula. The skin becomes flawless, reflects light in the most beautiful way, and is simultaneously given a cocktail of ingredients that help it become smooth and firm. I also like lightweight SPFs, and in my opinion this SPF 15 is suitable for most of the year in the Nordic region. I prioritize that the products match my clients’ needs. How do you guide your clients in their home care routine so that the effects of the treatment don’t stop when they leave the room, but instead become an integrated part of their everyday life?
