What is your educational background, and how have your education and experience influenced the treatments you specialize in today?
I trained as a cosmetician with a specialisation in spa in 2007, and later qualified as both a nail technician and makeup artist.
Through my education and various specialisations, I have gained a broad understanding of wellness treatments, and it has always been the more calm and sensory-based treatments that have appealed to me the most. Spa treatments in particular hold a special place in my work because they make it possible to create calm and presence for each individual client. In a time where many people live busy lives and stress has unfortunately become a major part of everyday life for many, I also experience a growing demand for wellness treatments that offer the opportunity for mental disconnection My education has given me a strong professional foundation, while my experience has deepened my passion for treatments that combine beauty, calm, and a sense of immersion.
What does a holistic treatment mean to you, and what does it concretely involve in your work?
In my work, I focus on the atmosphere in the room, calm movements, and creating an environment where the senses can settle. Small details such as tempo, touch, scents, and sound make a significant difference to the overall experience.
What defines your personal signature as a spa expert – and where does your approach differ the most from what you typically find in the industry?
My personal signature is an honest and individual approach to every treatment. I do not believe that two people are the same, and therefore my treatments will never be 100% identical either. One of the things that most clearly distinguishes my approach from much of what you typically encounter in the industry is my perspective on aging. I consciously work with a more positive and realistic perspective on the skin’s development. For me, treatments are not about fighting the skin’s lines and wrinkles, but about caring for the skin and creating a sense of wellbeing. I therefore often speak with my clients about seeing the skin, and life, from a broader perspective. Our skin tells our story, and we should stand by it rather than try to fight it. Furthermore, the fight against time is a lost battle. So instead, accept time and enjoy life’s natural development.
A treatment can be technically effective – but what is it that elevates it into something almost magical and memorable for the client?
What elevates a treatment into something truly special is the relationship with the client. When you come in for a treatment and feel seen, understood, and safe, a different kind of presence emerges. I invest time in remembering each client, their needs and preferences, and the small details that make the experience personal. Clients should feel that they are met with attentiveness and have the sense that they are in good hands. Then it becomes a memorable treatment.
Which ingredients and products resonate most strongly with you?
I believe in a simple approach to skincare with few but active ingredients. That is why I often choose products with retinol, salicylic acid and hyaluronic acid. In addition, I always recommend a high SPF regardless of the season in order to protect the skin as much as possible – for example High Defense, which many people are very happy with.
How do you help prepare your clients for at-home skincare?
Although a treatment can make a big difference, it is actually what happens at home between treatments that creates the biggest and most long-lasting results.
I usually say that 80–90% of the results come from daily routines. Therefore, I always review the client’s skincare routine continuously and adjust it as needed. My goal is for my clients to feel safe, informed, and well-equipped – both when it comes to skincare, lifestyle, and sometimes also diet.
In that way, the treatment is not just a moment of well-being, but part of a longer journey toward healthier skin.
